RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare journal entries to support timely financial statement close and ensure all activity recorded in line with Statutory Accounting principles (SAP).

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory filings, including core financial statements, supporting schedules and footnote disclosures.

Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.

Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by junior accounting staff.

Support the monthly general ledger closing process

Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.

Analyze financial statements for discrepancies, variances and other issues that should be brought to the management’s attention.

Prepare all Statutory to GAAP adjustment entries in support of preparation of financial statements presented on both a statutory and GAAP basis.

Assess technical accounting issues related to Statutory accounting regulations for appropriate financial treatment.

Support both GAAP and SAP financial statement audit activities.

Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.

Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to subordinates.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

5+ years as an Accountant….2+ years as a Senior Accountant

In-depth understanding of SAP and GAAP.

Property and casualty Insurance industry experience

CPA preferred.

Experience with EAS general ledger and EFS Statutory reporting software preferred.
