Great opportunity for an accomplished commercial lines P & C insurance company professional to join a growing, well established, market leading insurer in SE FL. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Underwriting will be responsible for driving profitable growth primarily in transportation related accounts while directly managing, developing a team of commercial underwriters and support staff. Company growth plans include product expansion into several new states. You will collaborate with other senior leaders to help develop and implement underwriting policy, business strategy, and marketing. Also, there will be referral underwriting, oversight responsibilities of the largest accounts.
Several years of P & C insurance company commercial underwriting experience is required; expertise with commercial auto lines is essential. Demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to professional development (CPCU, AU) required. A competitive compensation package includes a base salary, realistic bonus plan, full benefits.
