Agency Marketing Representative – Oil & Gas | Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Excellent opportunity with a well-established independent insurance agency in Houston seeking an experienced Agency Marketing Representative to join our team. This role focuses on marketing new and renewal accounts for clients in the oil and gas sector, specifically midstream and upstream operations.
What You'll Do:
Market complex oil and gas accounts through the entire placement process—from analyzing exposures and coverage needs to negotiating terms with carriers and preparing comprehensive proposals. You'll leverage your deep understanding of the energy sector and carrier landscape to secure the most competitive and appropriate coverage for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Market midstream and upstream oil and gas accounts to carriers, wholesalers, and specialty markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters across multiple carrier platforms
Analyze complex energy-related exposures and recommend appropriate coverage solutions
Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
Manage the marketing timeline to ensure proposals are delivered on schedule
Stay current on carrier appetite, market conditions, and emerging trends in the energy insurance space
Collaborate with account management teams to support client retention and growth
What We're Looking For:
3-5+ years of commercial insurance marketing experience with a focus on oil and gas (midstream and upstream)—not renewables
Strong casualty background and control of well experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of carrier markets, wholesalers, and specialty programs serving the energy sector
Deep understanding of coverage needs specific to oil and gas operations
Proven track record of building and maintaining productive carrier relationships
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to advocate effectively for clients
High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Self-starter who thrives in an independent, fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
