Marine Underwriting Director Atlanta Remote East Coast

Description

Develop and execute the overall U.S. Marine strategy across Ocean Marine and Inland Marine product lines.

Lead the profitable growth and expansion of the U.S. Marine division, including Marine Cargo, Stock Throughput, Builder's Risk, and Contractors' Equipment

Drive new business production through the development of strategic relationships with retail and wholesale brokers

Manage and expand existing broker and client relationships while identifying new market opportunities.

Establish underwriting guidelines, growth objectives, and profitability targets consistent with the Company's strategic goals.

Monitor portfolio performance, market trends, and competitive conditions

Work closely with executive leadership

Represent the Company at industry conferences, broker meetings, client presentations, and trade association events.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, delegated authorities, underwriting standards, and internal policies.

Prepare and present portfolio management reports, production updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Travel domestically for business development, broker management, and industry events. International travel may be required.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Minimum seven years of Marine Underwriting Experience.

Proven leadership experience managing Ocean Marine, Inland Marine, or a combination of both product lines.

Demonstrated success in building and managing profitable underwriting portfolios.

Experience leading, developing, and managing underwriting and production teams.

Strong analytical and portfolio management capabilities.

Preference for Atlanta, GA, but open to a possible remote role on the East Coast.
