Position Overview:
We are seeking a Reinsurance Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting process for our reinsurance programs, with a strong emphasis on Facultative Reinsurance, Quota Share, and Excess of Loss (XOL).

Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounting and financial reporting for all ceded reinsurance activity, including Facultative, Quota Share, and Excess of Loss contracts.

Ensure timely and accurate recording of ceded premium, losses, and reinsurance recoverables in accordance with contract terms.

Coordinate month-end and quarter-end close processes related to reinsurance transactions.

Prepare and review reinsurance journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for financial and statutory reporting, including Schedule F.

Support modeling and analysis of reinsurance programs' financial impact on statutory and GAAP results.

Manage reinsurance settlements and collections, ensuring accurate cash application and monitoring of outstanding balances.

Support the development of controls and procedures for reinsurance accounting processes.

Serve as a key point of contact for auditors and regulatory authorities regarding reinsurance accounting and reporting.

Assist with reinsurance system implementations and enhancements (experience with Sapiens or similar systems is a plus).


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or ARe preferred.

5+ years of experience in reinsurance accounting within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.

Experience with Facultative Reinsurance, Quota Share arrangements, and Excess of Loss treaties.

Solid understanding of reinsurance principles, accounting standards (GAAP and Statutory), and regulatory reporting (including Schedule F).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Experience with Sapiens strongly preferred
